    Symphony Manor of Richmond is an assisted living and memory care community located just three miles from Short Pump Town Center, at the intersection of Gayton and Ridgefield Roads, in Richmond, Virginia. Situated in the beautiful West End area of Henrico County, our community is conveniently located near great shopping and restaurants, and we’re just 20 minutes from many of Richmond’s downtown attractions.

    The community of Symphony Manor is beautifully maintained, in lovely, park-like setting. Residents and families can enjoy the three gazebos and several benches nestled in under the shady trees on our inviting terrace.

    Life Enrichment Programming

    The Symphony Manor Life Enrichment program boasts many activities and local outings that give our residents a purpose every day. We incorporate daily spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual activities to give each of our residents a fulfilling day.

    In addition to regularly scheduled activities such as church services and Bible study, special cooking activities, and live entertainment, we have outings and trips several times a month that include shopping, and visiting restaurants and museums.

    Programming at Symphony Manor keeps us vibrant and in touch with our surrounding community. You’ll find our spirited program inspires residents to lead fulfilling and active lives.

    Dining Program

    Join us for three meals a day, plus snacks! The dining experience is a great way to meet with friends and enjoy our friendly staff. Each meal is home cooked and served restaurant-style in our dining room, with menus and table service. Meals change every day, and we are very accommodating to individual tastes, preferences, and food allergies.

    Assisted Living

    At Symphony Manor of Richmond, our focus is supporting our residents’ independence and overall wellness.

    The care that each resident receives at Symphony Manor is unique to his or her needs. Each resident’s activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, bathing, and hygiene, are assessed upon move-in and regularly throughout their stay. We work with the resident, family members, and health practitioners to create the right plan of care for each person.

    Care-related services include, but are not limited to:

    • Care staff, including a licensed nurse, at facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
    • Personal care assistance with activities of daily living
    • Medication assistance and administration
    • Mobility assistance
    • Continence maintenance
    • Visits from outside physician
    • On-site visits from the dentist, podiatrist, home health, and more

    Memory Care Neighborhood

    Along the Journey is Priority Life Care’s memory care programming. The Along the Journey program was created for our seniors with memory impairments. It’s also a way to develop strong relationships between families and caregivers. A successful transition involves supporting the resident in their new environment and being a resource for the family.

    Goals of Along the Journey:

    • Create a safe and comfortable environment for residents
    • Provide consistent, well-trained caregivers specific to dementia care
    • Provide care based on each resident’s abilities and needs, with respect to the individual’s culture and preferences
    • Achieve the highest quality of life possible for residents through cueing and assistance
    • Be a resource and provide support to families, staff, and other residents

    At Symphony Manor of Richmond, we use activities to help reduce residents’ agitation, improve their moods, and encourage social interaction. Popular activities include morning coffee (hydration) and news, listening to music, spiritual programs, ice cream socials, reminiscing, trivia, and puzzles. One-on-one sensory activities may also be used to help residents relax and have a good night’s rest.

    Short-Term Respite Care

    Residents in short-term respite care receive all of the amenities and care in our assisted living or memory care options, but for a shorter, predetermined length of stay. Respite care is for loved ones who may need a little help after a hospital or rehab stay, or when caregivers plan a family vacation or just need some time to relax and recharge. We are here for you. Interiors are painted in tasteful neutral colors, and include private bathrooms and personal heating and cooling. With both private and semi-private apartments, we are an affordable choice for seniors.
